A part of all of our DEI strategies is to identify and negate bias in the workplace as much as possible right? Radical Respect 's @Trier Bryant and Kim Scott have an interesting way of calling it out on the spot.
They use the phrase “Purple flag” to immediately identify bias during a meeting. Other companies throw up a peace sign, and say “yo” or “ouch” or “bias alert.”
While it might seem harsh to call someone out like that, it sets a precedent for immediate course correction because unconscious bias is a thought pattern that can only be unlearned with outside help. Otherwise, you're just reinforcing that bias. It's also important to note that this isn't a way to shame anyone but to create teachable moments instead.
Scott says that the three keys to disrupting bias are:
Uncomfy. But important.
They just want money.
With company shutdowns and holiday parties on the horizon, payout platform, Tremendous , surveyed 1,500 employees to find out what kind of holiday gifts they really wanted.
Most people said that they would be more than happy to receive $50 to $100 to spend, but that they would like it to come from their boss or leadership team, perhaps with a thank-you note attached. Additionally, 75% are said to have a more positive attitude after receiving the ideal holiday gift.

Career guidance used to come from older professionals (think your career counsellor) or certified coaches, but younger workers are looking to social media influencers for advice now.
Content creators are everywhere and while their styles may vary, they usually cover similar topics like how to ace interviews, negotiate salaries, handle performance reviews and communicate with managers in a casual, accessible way.
It's no surprise that a lot of people are turning to these influencers for guidance because according to a 2022 global survey from Deloitte , roughly 40% of Gen Zers and 24% of millennials would like to leave their jobs within two years.
