🇪🇺 Europe:

• Vattenfall InCharge, the Swedish energy supplier's eMobility brand, has won a tender to install up to 22,000 additional public charging points in the Netherlands. This new tender will increase Vattenfall's total installations in these provinces to 59,000 charging points.
• TotalEnergies and SSE have formed a joint venture named Source to establish a major EV charging infrastructure in the UK and Ireland. The initiative aims to deploy up to 3,000 high-power charging points, each with a capacity of 150 kW or more, grouped into 300 "EV hubs" over the next five years.
• BYD is expanding its European footprint with a $1 billion investment in Turkey. The company has inked a deal to build a factory producing 150,000 electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles annually by late 2026. This $1 billion investment is expected to create around 5,000 jobs and include a research and development center for mobility technologies.

🇺🇸 North America:

• Biden announces new $1.7B initiative to electrify the American auto industry and workforce. Funded by the Inflation Reduction Act, this initiative aims to create an estimated 2,900 new jobs and preserve 15,000 existing positions across eight states.
• Toyota has joined IONNA, a joint venture with seven other major automakers, to support the development of a high-powered EV charging network in North America. IONNA aims to install at least 30,000 DC fast charging ports by 2030, compatible with both NACS and CCS connectors. 
• Electrify America pilot limits EV charging to 85% to reduce congestion. This initiative targets high-traffic stations, primarily in Los Angeles, and aims to shorten queuing times by preventing the slower charging speeds associated with the final 20% battery capacity.
