INSIDE, OUTSIDE, AND MERRY CHRISTMAS SWEETIE...
The adult human body has 206 bones,
Around 100,000 miles of veins,
Not far off 840 muscles,
And about 20 pounds of skin.
It has around 1.5 gallons of blood,
Going around and around,
And 37.2 trillion cells, give or take,
Constantly living and dying.
And the most wonderful, almost unbelievable thing about them,
Is that when you put them all together, they only have one purpose in life,
One goal in mind,
One job to do,
And that is:
To love you with every single fibre of their being,
Every day, every night, and especially at Christmas,
When the fat man in the red suit comes calling.
Now…they might do it visibly…and they might do it invisibly,
It doesn’t matter.
So don’t worry if you can’t see them,
That doesn’t mean they’re not there… working like Billy’o…loving you.
From the top of your lovely head, to the tips of your beautiful toes,
Sometimes dark rooms really do have black cats, waiting to be looked for, and found.
Think about it like this…
Just because you can’t hear me say “I love you” and “Merry Christmas”
Doesn’t mean I don’t say the words and mean them.
They might not exist on the outside,
But they sure as Hell exist on the inside.
Merry Christmas, Denise M. Main,
Loved you then, love you now, love you always.
