So, here's the thing: Have you ever found yourself in a situation where office politics are just getting under your skin? Maybe it's the feeling of constantly walking on eggshells, or perhaps you've noticed some behind-the-scenes drama that's making your workday less enjoyable.
Well, guess what? You're not alone! Office politics can be a real pain for many of us, and it's okay to admit when they're bothering you.
You might have face situations like -
- Favoritism: Certain individuals may receive preferential treatment or opportunities based on personal relationships rather than merit.
- Information Hoarding: Some employees may withhold important information or resources to maintain power or gain a competitive edge.
- Gossiping: Rumors and gossip can spread quickly, influencing perceptions and relationships within the workplace.

This is a very important trait as a leader.
- Identify the power centres: Take the time to understand the power dynamics within your organization, including who holds influence and how decisions are made. This knowledge can help you navigate office politics more effectively. Ex- The top executives and senior management hold significant power and influence over organizational decisions and direction.
- Decipher the informal network: Pay attention to interactions and social dynamics within the workplace. Notice who communicates frequently with whom, who sits together during breaks or lunch, and who seems to have influence over others. Don't get indulged in it but don't be unaware about what is happening around you. Keep your eyes and ears open without getting influenced by it.
- Communicate Effectively: Practice clear and transparent communication with colleagues at all levels of the organization. Be open to feedback, listen actively, and express your thoughts and ideas articulately.
- Build Alliances Wisely: Identify key stakeholders and influencers within your organization and build strategic alliances with them. But what I have observed , in most of the case, person should stick on his/her ethics and principle, keep restrict from nuisance and gossip talk, sooner or later he will come out from the nasty politics
