Insights from 60 hospitality industry leaders: A recap from FITUR 2024

Last January, we enjoyed another spectacular edition of FITUR, which has motivated us to continue transforming industry standards for another year. 🚀✨

Among our achievements, we cannot fail to mention that Hoteltrends Arena, the spectacular conference area we organized in our 120m2 stand, exceeded 120 simultaneous attendees 🎫🔥. Additionally, many colleagues have highlighted us as a reference stand and networking point, something that fills us with pride 🤩.

In this epicenter of notable discussions, we were able to enjoy 12 panel discussions on the most relevant current topics, with the participation of more than 60 industry leaders (8 CEOs, 15 C-Level positions, 6 VPs, among others) from companies such as Iberostar, Hyatt, Palladium, Barceló, RIU, Bahía Príncipe, Radisson, NH, Google, and Amazon.

In this regard, we take the opportunity to share with you some of the interesting reflections that have emerged in our space:

CEOs' Vision 💼🔎: The senior executives who accompanied us raised the need to tackle sector challenges through the development of unique projects for innovation in customer experience, as well as the importance of developing a sustainable tourism model and leaving aside "tourism phobia". Emphasis was also placed on the fundamental role of collaboration between local administrations and entrepreneurs for greater agility in management and expansion possibilities.

"Instead of being accommodation that offers an experience, what we should aspire to is to offer an experience that includes accommodation" 🧳✨. This was one of the valuable conclusions from Raúl González, CEO of Barceló, regarding the need for hotels to respond to demands for personalized experiences, differentiate themselves competitively, and adapt to market trends to achieve success.

Edurne Pasaban’s Lessons ⛰️🥇: The wonderful moment we shared in our stand with the pioneer in conquering the 14 eight-thousanders left us with a myriad of essential learnings, among which we highlight ambition and the desire for self-improvement as driving forces to achieve our own goals, the importance of having people nearby who embrace good values, and the importance of remaining humble in achieving our objectives - choosing the path through which each one can reach success, within our own paths and possibilities -.

Avoid deploying Artificial Intelligence projects without foundations in real needs 👨🏻💻🎯: In our spectacular CIOs panel, the need to understand the use cases of AI that truly make sense for each business was emphasized, and the importance of clean and well-defined data was emphasized. It was also stressed that those who efficiently adopt AI will have significant advantages, as the technology will facilitate the execution of strategies, with the tourism sector being one where the evolution of traveler characteristics demands increasingly informed and personalized experiences.

Sustainability as a profitability lever ♻️📈: Our speakers emphasized the importance of knowing customers well and applying technologies for these purposes, and they also reflected on the role of AI in making sustainable decisions, presenting interesting practical cases, such as AI applied in the development of efficient waste management projects, in the optimization of energy reserves and water consumption, and sustainable inventory control.

Personalization strategies as key at the time of purchase 🛍️💳: The experts who accompanied us shared examples and recommendations based on their best practices and focused on capturing users' attention with relevance, offering more services, and fostering loyalty. Some mentioned strategies were connecting locally with customers by implementing a multi-language website, improving the user experience through disruptive technologies, and using artificial intelligence to personalize offers as much as possible.
