Integral Care Opens Travis County's First Youth Crisis Respite Center

On Friday, August 23rd, Integral Care hosted a ribbon cutting and open house event at our new Youth Crisis Respite Center. We're proud to collaborate with Travis County, Texas Health and Human Services, and The SAFE Alliance on the county's first youth respite center. Youth mental health has become a rising concern nationwide, and as the county's local mental health authority, I'm proud to see our team further step up to support Travis County youth.

Now open, the respite center will care for youth ages 13 to 17 experiencing a crisis for short-term, supervised stays. After a child is referred by family, school staff, a hospital, or a local mental health professional, they will receive trauma-informed therapy, any medical or psychiatric care they need, and more to see them through the difficult moment they may be going through.

Competent and equitable mental health care is what we do. With the rising need for youth mental health care, we knew we had to rapidly expand access, and we're proud to be able to offer this much-needed resource to our community.

I'm looking forward to seeing the positive impact that our dedicated mental health professionals will have on the lives of Central Texas youth. Mental health care is crucial to the well-being of our communities, and we are honored to provide it to those who need it the most.

This is a wonderful resource! I know many of my former students could benefit from a place like this. Will share with their parents!
