Intelect Group Newsletter November 2024
Dear reader,
It will soon be Christmas, and here is an early present for all my subscribers! I'm giving you 10% off an annual subscription to Investigation Engine, read on to find out more.
Investigation Engine update
- Huge thanks to one of our recent customers who made some great suggestions to make the platform even more awesome. As a result we've implemented a few changes.
These include, more information from UK Companies House about Persons of Significant Control, automatic search and an alteration to the investigation download that allows you to make entries on the document.
Remember that the standard platform package offers excellent coverage for your AML obligations, but we also understand that there may be occasions when you want something different.
That is why we offer a customisation option, which includes any, or all, of the following, white labelling, branding, data feeds, management/performance data and bespoke risk assessments.
You will find our fees to be extremely competitive and as a smaller business forget bureaucracy, we're agile and responsive.
Feel free to reach out and discuss your needs if you want an exclusive and responsive platform to call your own! Thank you for subscribing to our newsletter, it is really appreciated.
Oh and before I go, here's the code NEWSLETTERVIP, head here to redeem. It is a limited offer and will expire within two weeks, so don't delay and start making your due diligence life easier.

Cyber Security headlines
Senior police figure suspended
It's not just the external threats you need to be looking out for.
Organised Crime
Ice-crime anyone?
Who doesn’t like an ice-cream?! Having travelled to Italy twice this year I can say that their Gelato is amazing. However, this tale of ‘Parlours in Palermo’ is worth a read and a reminder that any business can be utilised for money laundering.
Regulatory headlines
Could your business absorb a £140,000 fine?
Regulators can, and will, investigate and enforce AML failures, as demonstrated by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission recently.
Online privacy
For those of you that use Facebook (or any social media platforms for that matter) do you ever get curious about how your information is getting shared?
I am frequently checking and blocking ads and trackers as much as I can, at the very least to try and prevent the rubbish that appears in my feeds.
Here's something you can do in Facebook to check to see what you are sharing.
Please note images are from an iPhone, so may differ between devices.First, go to Menu and 'Settings' indicated by a cog in the top right hand corner. Then follow the sequential guide below.

Due Diligence Investigations & Training
With over 45 years of investigative experience and training I can help make your organisation with the provision of reports, reviews or training.
Here's what a new client had to say recently, "I’ve found the reports Intelect prepare to be very thorough and helpful for any client with an AML obligation".
We'll always work with our clients to deliver reports in a format they want and use an ultra secure system to deliver the document(s) to you.
Likewise with training, tell us what you want to achieve and we will build it for you.
