INSTITUTE FEATURE:
FUTURE OF QUANTUM PREP
While we know that the advancement of quantum computers will bring with it many advantages, we also know that they pose a threat to traditional public key cryptography in use today. In recent months we’ve seen an increasing amount of government action across the globe with timelines and steps for government agencies to follow in order to prepare for post-quantum. In the latest episode of the Entrust Engage podcast, our guest, Forrester Principal Analyst Sandy Carielli, helps break down some of the direction and timelines provided by the White House and NSA, and discusses what this means for non-federal agencies.
Carielli also defines and addresses the post-quantum threat that exists today known as “harvest now, decrypt later," and why it is likely the catalyst for some of the urgency that is coming out of these government bodies.

News and New Perspectives
A proven approach to resolving PKI talent scarcity
Public key infrastructure (PKI) is more important than ever to enterprise security and enabling Zero Trust frameworks, yet companies struggle to achieve “PKI maturity” on several fronts. This is exacerbated by staff shortages and turnover of trained staff, according to results of a survey conducted by Ponemon Institute. So instead of hunting unicorns with all the skills, enterprises should consider hiring staff capable of learning the PKI trade and supplementing their skills with trusted external partners. Ngook Kong has more on the strategy here.

Tokenization: You can have it both ways
Payment tokenization has taken root as a substitute for encrypted online and mobile transactions because it reduces fraud for issuers and merchants and enhances the payments experience for consumers, writes Entrust's Nicolas Bruley in this post.
Get ready for a post-quantum future today... at RSAC
Post-quantum readiness and Zero Trust go hand in hand: Encryption is a critical part of Zero Trust frameworks, and quantum computers threaten to crack today’s encryption. Entrust VP (and Cybersecurity Institute mainstay) Greg Wetmore will speak on Tuesday at RSAC on what you can do now to get ready for the post-quantum future – which is closer than you think. See the RSAC session page for more details.
