Introducing… The Future of Digital Marketing 2021 edition eBook
There are multiple reasons why I love what I do at Hallam.
One of the biggest reasons is that I learn something new pretty much every day. I talk to a lot of people across a number of different industries that I never envisaged I would be getting involved in.
On top of that, however, I am always learning something new from the colleagues I have around me - digitally, of course (I still haven’t met half of them)!
PR and content is my bag, but Hallam is an agency that offers so much more than that. Over the last eight months, I have learned about SEO, PPC, strategy, data, UX, search, technical, and business - giving me a broad insight into the workings of the agency and what makes it tick.
So this is where this eBook comes in...
It didn’t start out that way. It actually began with me proposing an article specifically for outreach. I had a chat with Julio Taylor, our CEO, and from there it snowballed and I ended up nominating myself to revamp the agency’s downloadable Future of Digital Marketing: 2019 and beyond book.
And after months of interviewing eight of my colleagues, transcribing, piecing together, liaising with creative, and editing alongside our copywriter, it’s done. It’s ready for you to see.
Being frank, this is easily one of the most satisfying pieces of content I have worked on in my relatively short career - not just because of how it has turned out (I’m biased, but in my opinion, it looks and flows brilliantly), but because of how much I learned from this process.
Take Technical as an example. It’s a huge gaping hole in my knowledge well, but Jon Martin, our Technical Director, was my first interviewee, and listening to him speak about that function, how it has developed, what it’s like now, and what the future looks like was incredibly insightful.
The same can be said for my interviews with Joe Powell (Creative Director), Ben Wood (Strategy Director), Arianne Donoghue (Strategic Consultant), and Charlotte Tomlinson (Media Director), who all spoke with passion, wisdom, and a great amount of detail.
Transcribing is not the most exciting task in the world, but it was far from a chore as I pieced together their respective thoughts on the future of digital marketing.
As I mentioned, PR and content is my bag and background and, naturally, my chats with both Kieran S-Lawler (Head of Marketing) and Siobhan Congreve (even before she’d actually started at Hallam as Head of Content Marketing) went on a little longer and were equally interesting discussions and debates.
I’d like to thank each and every one of my colleagues that lent me their time and indulged my questions (even the stupid ones). All of you really are experts in your field.
And now this eBook is ready. I only hope you find it just as insightful as I did piecing it together and learn something new that may benefit you in the future.
