Elder Planning for Seniors 55+

An Elder Planning Counselor (EPC) in Canada is crucial in assisting older adults and their families with various aspects of aging, ensuring they can maintain a high quality of life and make informed decisions about their future. We use the iPlan acronym to highlight our services:

I - Inform

We educate seniors about the various elder planning options, including retirement savings, long-term care, and estate planning. We also provide information on resources such as financial advisors, legal aid, and community support services that can assist in planning.

P - Plan Ahead

We encourage seniors to plan their finances, ensuring they have sufficient savings and investments to support their retirement and potential healthcare needs. We discuss the importance of healthcare planning.

L - Legal Matters

We highlight the importance of having essential legal documents such as wills, living wills, and powers of attorney in place. We guide them through estate planning to ensure their assets are distributed according to their wishes.

A - Advocate

We empower seniors to advocate for their needs and preferences in healthcare and financial decisions. We suggest finding a trusted family member or friend who can advocate on their behalf if they cannot do so.

N - Navigate

We help seniors navigate the provincial and federal benefits they are entitled to.

We support navigating life transitions, such as downsizing homes, moving to retirement communities, or dealing with losing a spouse.
