Investing in the Future: Our Theory of Change
At Seed Healthcare , we are committed to disrupting healthcare and a significant way is through impact investing.
As it is today, healthcare systems are focused on identifying and treating late-stage disease.
This reactive approach increases healthcare costs and patient risks. We aim to shift the focus to early detection and intervention
So, how do we do that? Theory of Change.
Theory of Change is a crucial framework to impact investing that helps us evaluate and guide our investment strategies. Theory of Change links our goals to our actions, showing how critical actions lead to desired impacts. It also prompts us to reflect on our mission, discuss it with our executive team and Advisory Board, and strengthen our go-forward investment strategy.
Our Theory of Change at Seed addresses the problem we just outlined: detecting diseases earlier to enhance treatability, boost survival rates, and reduce healthcare costs.
We measure the impact of our investments before committing resources, ensuring each investment has clear metrics, annual reporting, etc. This data-driven strategy fosters accountability and supports continuous improvement.

Evaluating Impact
Targeted investments in early disease detection can transform healthcare. For us, that involves evaluating companies based on their ability
An example for us is Genalyte, Inc. , which offers rapid, point-of-care lab results within 30 minutes. This innovation improves access and accuracy with minimal infrastructure, embodying our focus on early and efficient disease detection.
Nicolette is another investment – their technology improves NICU outcomes by translating EHR data for parents, enhancing infant health.
These investments show the tangible impact of our approach, and our pipeline is full of innovative companies such as these, including disruptors in women’s health, heart screening, and cancer diagnostics.
A Hopeful Future
Our vision for the future is one where healthcare is proactive, leading to a world where diseases are detected early, treatments are more effective, and health systems are stronger and more resilient. Through our commitment to impactful investments and alignment with global health goals, we hope to not just enhance the quality of healthcare today but also pave the way for a healthier, more sustainable future.
The potential for impact is significant, and we are excited to partner with other innovators on this path of transformation.
