ISGlobal and INSERM Join Forces to Reduce the Risk of Chronic Diseases and Adapt Health to Climate Change
This week, ISGlobal and INSERM signed a cooperation agreement entitled 'Environmental epidemiology for chronic disease risk reduction and climate change adaptation'. This five-year project aims to investigate the impact of current and future environmental threats on global health and how they affect the development and progression of chronic diseases.
The agreement, which builds on a solid 20-year history of collaboration between Spanish and French research teams, focuses on finding effective strategies to reduce risks and adapt our societies to climate change. It also builds on previous agreements between the two teams, such as the joint laboratories in respiratory and environmental epidemiology between 2007 and 2020.
This joint effort between ISGlobal and INSERM is a crucial step in the fight against global health challenges, enhancing the exchange of knowledge, resources and expertise in key areas such as environmental epidemiology and respiratory health.
This partnership is expected to generate significant scientific advances that will contribute to improving public health in the context of climate change.
