“Navigating the future”, with Eagle Eye Networks and Axis Communications

The intersection of cloud video surveillance and AI is dynamic indeed.
It’s dramatically altering the video surveillance industry – and the opportunities this shift presents for improving security for communities and businesses around the world is really exciting.
AI is dramatically enhancing existing video surveillance systems. Currently, there are about one billion security cameras around the world, and that number increases every day.
The combination of cloud and AI is making cameras more useful and valuable for business owners.
One of the many benefits of cloud video surveillance is that it does not require the business owner to buy expensive specialty cameras or rip-and-replace their existing deployments.
Helsinki Airport boosts compliance and passenger safety
Helsinki Airport is a busy transport hub, with a network of flights connecting Finland with cities across Europe, Asia and beyond.
Managing access in such a dynamic environment is a challenge.
This challenge extends to the control of access to cupboards, drawers and cabinets where travel documents are stored – in the spotlight after new EU guidance on logging access to these documents.
Previously, security for cabinets in Helsinki’s check-in area required airport managers to issue and track around 100 mechanical keys per airline.
It took time and was a distraction from other important tasks.

The HI-SCAN 6040 DV, an advanced dual view X-ray inspection system, automatically detected explosives and liquids.
Additionally, the HI-SCAN 100100T-2is and HI-SCAN 145180-2is scanners shortened inspection times and increased operational efficiency.
Over 100 machines were used in total, with the HI-SCAN 6040 DV being the most utilised.

Unlocking value for emergency teams
SPX Communication Technologies’ Jackson White looks at the technology empowering security and police services with mission critical data and enhanced collaboration.
While police, fire and rescue and ambulance services work highly effectively side by side, the UK government has previously called attention to the need for improved collaboration between teams to increase their effectiveness.
A 2015 government consultation served to reinforce the duty of all three emergency services to collaborate with one another to share good practice, drive better outcomes for the public and deliver the world class services that communities deserve.
This has led today’s emergency teams to look for new ways to use their technological capabilities collaboratively to stay one step ahead.
