It's AMS Conference Registration Time… Here are 10 Reasons to Be Excited!

The Montessori Event 2022 is right around the corner. This premier AMS conference takes place March 17 – 20 in Nashville, TN and online. If you are a Montessori educator, administrator, researcher, or advocate you do not want to miss out on the Event.

Here are ten things I am excited to do at this year’s conference:

  1. Meet Isabel Wilkerson. This Pulitzer Prize recipient and author of the critically acclaimed New York Times bestsellers The Warmth of Other Suns and Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents will be presenting a keynote address at the conference.
  2. Learn from over 100 workshops and 100 exhibits. I strive to be a resource gatherer for our community. Each year at The Montessori Event, I find more than a few golden nuggets—inspiration, ideas, activities, frameworks, and books—that I know will support our community in achieving their goals.
  3. Listen and engage with Duncan Wardle. Inspired by AMS's promotion of Montessorians as Innovators, we are proud to invite Duncan, former head of innovation & creativity at Disney, to give a keynote address. Duncan helped teams at Disney Parks, Lucasfilm, Marvel, Pixar, and more to innovate, creating magical new storylines and unforgettable experiences for consumers around the globe.
  4. Network with Montessori educators and The Montessori Event sponsors in other sectors. Sometimes we get focused only on education and forget to collaborate and learn from those working in different areas on behalf of the Montessori movement.
  5. Watch Jaime Casap's (former chief education evangelist at Google) session on The Problem-Solving Generation. As the Montessori community continues to evolve, I am always looking for ways to learn how to prepare our educators with creative insight on bringing education to the next level.
  6. Attend the AMS Cares Spotlight series as the content is designed to spark thoughtful reflections around cultivating healthy habits, building meaningful relationships, maintaining joy in the face of adversity, and innovating for continued personal growth.
  7. Be inspired by Montessori Voices to celebrate our work as Montessori educators and congratulate 2022 AMS Living Legacy recipient, Dr. Juliet King.
  8. Dive into InFocus Sessions (4 dedicated hours at the Early Childhood and Elementary levels) that allow for a deeper focus on foundational components of Montessori pedagogy.
  9. Hear the brilliant Ashley Judd, one of the most vocal and influential figures of the #MeToo movement. She was named to TIME's "Person of the Year" as one of the silence-breakers and change-makers who helped shift the culture and conversation around sexual abuse and harassment. Ashley is a feminist, social justice humanitarian, and renowned actor.
  10. Meet YOU at a general session I have the privilege of leading, "Montessori Philosophy: 115 Years Later,” featuring ten surprise panelists and a guest author.

Visit TheMontessoriEvent.org to learn more. And be sure to register before Friday, January 14, 11:59 PM (PT) to take advantage of our special Early Bird pricing.
