It's Not About Being Nice! Spirituality Is About... Also, Exciting Launch News, SoulTech Magazine

For the longest time, I exhausted myself with niceness. It took getting repeatedly trampled by life for me to wake up to the fact that spirituality is not about being nice. It is about radical self-love, finding purpose, maintaining serious boundaries, and designing a high-vibrational life that inspires you. You can lead with love and still demand respect from the universe!

We are trained right into believing that conformity will lead to happiness. When in fact, conformity is at the root of so many societal issues. One of those issues is how our oppressive systems train people to believe they cannot share their real opinions.

I am not sure whose agenda is worse at making us opinion-less, the liberal woke or the radical right. A dichotomy that has led us right into pandemic craziness. That is something that shocked me during the closure. I was all for doing what was needed but trying to find someone else who thought it was ok to even discuss options was like yelling into a black hole. That experience was one of the things that scared me right into a massive life change.

These days, I don’t give a fu%k what anyone thinks of my language or opinions. I HIGHLY recommend learning not to give a crap as it alleviates an absurd burden from your life. You see, that is really what spirituality is really about. It is the great undoing of all the garbage we have been taught to believe! It is about the inner journey to your purest self. A journey that allows you to show up as 100% YOU. After all, science has shown that authenticity is the highest vibration!

Being nice in the face of ill treatment is something oppressive systems have taught us. We are told to turn the other cheek as though that is always the right response. Something unhealthy people and companies have taken advantage of long enough. Own your truth! Let them gossip. If they don’t like it, tell them to kiss your other cheeks ;-).

Becoming more authentic involves aligning your actions, words, and beliefs with your true self. Here are some practices that can help you be more authentic:

  1. Self-reflection: Take time to understand your values, beliefs, and desires. Reflect on your experiences and how they shape who you are.
  2. Honesty: Be truthful with yourself and others. Avoid pretending to be someone you're not or hiding your true thoughts and feelings.
  3. Self-awareness: Pay attention to your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Understand why you react in certain ways and how you truly feel about different situations.
  4. Setting boundaries: Establish clear boundaries that respect your needs and values. Learn to say no when necessary and communicate your boundaries assertively.
  5. Acceptance: Embrace your strengths, weaknesses, and quirks. Accept yourself for who you are without judgment or comparison to others.
  6. Vulnerability: Allow yourself to be vulnerable with trusted individuals. Share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences authentically, knowing that it fosters genuine connections.
  7. Mindfulness: Practice being present in the moment and engaging fully in your experiences. Mindfulness can help you connect with your authentic self and live more intentionally.
  8. Authentic communication: Express yourself honestly and openly in your interactions with others. Avoid hiding behind masks or using language that doesn't truly reflect your thoughts and feelings.
  9. Acting with integrity: Align your actions with your values and principles. Make choices that reflect who you truly are, even when faced with challenges or temptations.
  10. Self-compassion: Treat yourself with kindness and understanding, especially during times of difficulty or self-doubt. Acknowledge that being authentic is a journey, and it's okay to make mistakes along the way.

By incorporating these practices into your daily life, you can cultivate authenticity and live more in tune with your true self.
