It’s easy to assume

It’s easy to assume that someone else must have a greater vision, a nobler purpose than just going to work, having a family, and living a life. We often look at successful people, celebrities, leaders, or role models and think they must have it all figured out. We imagine them as having a grand plan or a higher calling, something that sets them apart from the ordinary day-to-day existence that most of us lead.

But the truth is, everyone is just trying to make sense of their lives in their own way. While some people may have a clear sense of purpose or a specific goal they are working towards, many others are just going with the flow, figuring things out as they go along. And that’s perfectly okay.

It’s important to remember that success and fulfillment look different for everyone. For some, it may mean climbing the corporate ladder and achieving financial stability. For others, it may mean pursuing creative endeavors, helping others, or simply finding joy in the little things in life. There is no one-size-fits-all formula for living a meaningful life.

In his book "Man's Search for Meaning," Holocaust survivor and psychiatrist Viktor Frankl writes about the importance of finding meaning in our lives, even in the face of suffering and adversity. He argues that we can find purpose and fulfillment in even the most challenging circumstances if we are able to identify what is truly important to us.

Similarly, psychologist Carol Dweck talks about the power of having a growth mindset, where we believe that our abilities and intelligence can be developed through hard work and dedication. With this mindset, we can embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and see setbacks as temporary obstacles on the path to success.

So, while it may be tempting to assume that someone else has a greater vision or nobler purpose than ourselves, the reality is that everyone is just trying to make the most of their own unique journey. It’s okay to not have it all figured out, to take things one day at a time, and to find meaning in the small moments that make up our lives.

In conclusion, it’s important to remember that success and fulfillment are subjective and personal concepts. While some people may have a clear vision or purpose, many others are simply trying to make sense of their lives in their own way. By staying true to ourselves, embracing challenges, and finding meaning in the everyday moments, we can create a life that is meaningful and fulfilling, no matter how ordinary it may seem on the surface.
