It's making the right noises
Imposter syndrome is real. When I started to send out my book 'I AM' to various media houses to review it, I felt it. I was worried that the experts would find reasons why my book was just all glam and no substance. The only thing I could do was wait.
And the wait paid off :)
When I heard that The Hindu was sending my book to Prof Renuka Kamath, Associate Dean, Bhavan’s SPJIMR, it got me excited and nervous. Would she find the deeper meaning in the simple story or will it come across as a cute illustrated book? Will she find the book at an extremely surface level or will my intentions come through.
When in her review in The Hindu Business Line she said - Reshma Budhia’s I am, a book on creativity and design thinking is a rare book of simplicity at multiple levels - all my anxiety was put to rest. In her review, Prof Kamath goes on to say - Budhia cleverly brings in the entire process of defining a problem, redefining it (if required), the art of asking deep questions to understand users, empathy, using frames to look at the problem, ideating, making choices, early prototyping, implementing and iterating. She also goes on to iterate - The illustrations in the book make it so effortless to read and understand, that it is almost deceptive. With that, Budhia ingeniously drives home the point of creativity as a problem-solving mindset.

The New Indian Express called it "A creativity gospel". The article goes on to say - Author Reshma Budhia seems to have decoded this long-standing mystery in the simplest of words in her new book 'I AM'... “You are so creative. I wish I was too.” It is this sentiment that the author plays with and rightfully so.

K Jeshi, from The Hindu, interviewed me for the book review. Her approach to the interview was full of excitement mainly because her young kid had fallen in love with my book. That itself was a great testimony to me. In her review she states - Reshma Budhia's I AM starts a conversation on creativity. The book attempts to introduce creativity in a new light to parents, educators, and children.

Of course, publications and media houses recognizing the true worth of this book is like a cherry on this delicious cake that is made of reviews from actual readers. My Inbox, DMs, Amazon Review page, and Good Reads Review page are full of some heart-felt and genuine reviews by parents and educators. These give me the fuel to keep pushing the book with the hope that at least one person on reading will remark 'I Am Creative'!
