Those smiles say it all... A child should never go hungry... This drives me to help more children not go hungry!

Yes, it is a plea for help but more so I wanted to share WHY I absolutely LOVE this particular initiative and how it truly Changes Lives! So please don't feel pressured to contribute but please do read to the end and at least know...

🍛 With the NTC Initiative, you know what your small contribution will buy - meals full of nutrition, vitamins, minerals and omegas.

👶 You know how the meals will be used - to nourish the children in need and save them from malnutrition.

🏫 You know that your contributions will be leveraged with matching contributions for education and disease prevention programs.

🌍 And you know that you are most certainly making a difference, with more than 130,000 children being nourished every single day in countries around the world.

You can be part of this initiative too by feeding a child for a whole month every month with a small contribution. Even better, get a friend or two to join in on the fun!

Over 600 million meals have been distributed to malnourished children through this initiative since it's inception in 2002.

If you've read enough and want to do this now InBox me and I'll get you started.

The Challenge

According to the World Food Programme:

  • Poor nutrition causes nearly half (45%) of deaths in children under five - 3.1 million children each year.
  • 66 million primary school-age children attend classes hungry daily, with 23 million in Africa alone.

Millions of children were dying each year from causes related to malnutrition, it was apparent that the existing humanitarian efforts were not adequate to address this pressing global problem and that something different needed to be done.

Help me help them

The Solution

The NTC Initiative is the solution to provide a consistent supply of nourishing food to the world’s most needy children.

It allows anyone to make a small or large contribution to a critical humanitarian need on an ongoing basis.

By applying business principles to those involved in the initiative, it yields a program that is ensures longevity and sustainability. Many relief efforts are provided on a oncee-off basis or through limited-time contracts, leaving the needy in need again, while the NTC Initiative has provided a framework to maintain a consistent level of food on a sustainable basis since 2002.

ALL Contributions make ALL the difference to so many who have nothing else.

Feeding a child

Thank you for helping me help them

Malnourished children are missing key nutrients in their diets, which can hinder brain, bone and immune system development. Most humanitarian food aid is grain, such as corn, which generally lacks certain essential nutrients for healthy the development of a child, especially a child in a malnourished state.

This initiative provides a specially formulated meal for malnourished children or family use, produced by a company with extensive experience in nutrition and working with an expert in child malnutrition in third-world countries, this meal, which is vegetarian and non-dairy, allows for the easy addition of ingredients to fit every taste and culture.

Each package contains 30 child-sized meals, providing:

🍛 A perfect balance of carbohydrates, protein, fat and fibre

🍯 Essential fatty acids required for normal brain development, skin health and immune defence

💦 Electrolytes necessary for maintaining normal fluid balance and muscle function

🍏 25 essential vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A for normal sight and immune functions

👶 Nutrients for normal growth and skeletal development

In summary not only are their tummies being filled BUT their bodies are receiving everything that they need in order for them to grow up to be healthy adults.

Fighting Malnutrition on the Ground!

Educating the child

According to UNESCO 20% of children in developing countries do not attend school and this is something that we are changing with the NTC initiative.

In order for children to receive their meals they are required to attend school thereby ensuring they they receive an education and empowering them for a more promising future.

Also ensuring that they have a tummy full of nutrition so that they can concentrate, think better and have the opportunity of becoming a contributing member of society.

Meet some of the Children

Janet Banda from Malawi

Janet Banda was severely malnourished and unable to walk or talk when an orphanage took her in. Within a week of receiving VitaMeal her tiny body began to normalise. Now she is able to run, play and learn with the other children. Now she has hope.

MORE THAN 94 MILLION MEALS HAVE BEEN DISTRIBUTED IN AFRICA.

Xie Rongxue

Xie Rongxue is 11 and in the fourth grade. Her family’s annual income is the equivalent of US$75. Her father is in the hospital for liver disease treatment, so her 16-year-old brother dropped out of school to help with the farm. VitaMeal donations assure that Xie and her family receives proper nutrition.

MORE THAN 47 MILLION MEALS HAVE BEEN DISTRIBUTED IN ASIA.

Tupiza from Bolivia

Tupiza, a 7-year-old boy, would work in the mines to help support his family since his father died a few years prior. He used to eat one meal a day and chew coca to calm the hunger and stay awake. Now he receives a second meal of VitaMeal, and now he is in school!

MORE THAN 5 MILLION MEALS HAVE BEEN DISTRIBUTED IN THE AMERICAS.

Melki Takesef from Indonesia

Melki Takesef, a 9 years-old son of a farmer, lives at Desa Oepliki, Timor Tengah Selatan. Melki is not able to go to school because his family lives in poverty. They live in a very dry, unpleasant environment with poor watering system. He is extremely grateful to receive VitaMeal, particularly the VitaMeal porridge prepared by his mother.

More Than Just Feeding Children - here is how it works in Malawi

In 2004, it was decided to do more than just feeding but to provide long term help to Malawians in a sustainable way in order to create a better future for them and their families.

The Republic of Malawi is a landlocked country in South East Africa and is among the world’s least developed and most densely populated countries. Of the 15 million people in Malawi, it was estimated that 3 of every 10 children would die before they reach the age of five. In 2009, the life expectancy of anyone born then was only 50 years, mainly due to malnutrition and infections.

Approximately two million Malawian children are orphans without any means of providing for themselves or their siblings.

With the help of the Malawi Project, a qualified charity dedicated to help the people of Malawi since 1993, and Napoleon Dzombe, a local leader who assures that VitaMeal bags are delivered to those who need them the most, Nu Skin financed the building of the Madalitso VitaMeal plant in Lilongwe, Malawi’s capital.

The plant opened in November 2004 and produces VitaMeal Roasted Maize & Soya Bean Porridge, which is the food that Malawians are accustomed to eating but with added essential minerals, vitamins and omegas that is needed to combat malnutrition.

The Malawi VitaMeal plant is boosting the Malawian economy, providing approximately 400 jobs for farmers growing the ingredients, and plant workers who produce the VitaMeal porridge.

Madalitso Vitameal Plant

Today, the Madalitso VitaMeal plant is producing over two million meals per month, providing vital nourishment for Malawian orphans and helps to draw many children to school who would otherwise have to work and provide for their families.

This has to be the most comprehensive initiative that I have ever come across. So all encompassing that it not only fills children’s tummies but gives them the nutrition that they need so that they can survive malnutrition. In Africa most feeding schemes only give processed maize-meal which does not fulfil all the needs of these children.

There are so many facets and human beings that are helped in a very specific and sustainable manner in order to offer longevity to the benefits offered by this initiative.

A single Bag, like the one that you see the children holding in the pictures, supports the following:

1️⃣ Feeding a child in Need

2️⃣ Ensuring the child attends school for a better future

3️⃣ Providing local farmers with an opportunity for income

4️⃣ Providing entrepreneurs and factory workers with an income

5️⃣ Up-skilling families in the communities so that they have the opportunity of a better future.

A Small Act from You Makes the World of Difference to Them!

Thank you for taking the time to find out what this initiative is about, and YES, I contribute monthly too!
