JACKBOOT OF DEATH: 2015 IN RETROSPECT

The year 2015 came and gone but left many in harvest of death: limb lost, body mutilation, permanent handicap, transition into an avoidable grave. The rate of death recorded in the year 2015 was next to world wars genocide. The world bade 2014 farewell and were hoping for a prosperous new year of 2015 without having the knowledge of tragedy that lurked in the corner for many citizens of the world in the new year.
The major tragedy that struck the world in 2015 was the xenophobic attack in South Africa where the South Africans assumed their jobs have been taken over by the African immigrants and the best they could do to reclaim their stolen job was to totally annihilate their fellow African brothers and sisters. Not less than 2000 lives were reportedly lost. Arson, chaos were let loose, shops were burgled. Many Africans were burnt at stake, many were macheted, many were maimed, many were stoned to death by the ingrate South Africans who had forgotten that many African countries paid supreme price for their long journey to freedom from their apartheid warlords.
As the world was heaving a sigh of relief from the havoc of xenophobia, Boko Haram continue registering their presence in the North Eastern part of Nigeria. Bombing of armless civilians, kidnapping of women and school girls remained unabated. The change of Government on May 29 scaled down the tempo of Boko Haram operation as the new Government of Muhammadu Buhari jettisoned the kid glove hand with which his predecessor used to handle the extremists. With the success stories recorded by the Nigerian Army against the insurgents, not less than 1500 lives were still reportedly lost, thousands were displaced and many ladies were impregnated by the insurgents. Besides the issue of insurgents, the 2015 general election in Nigeria drew blood. There were height of political killings among the politicians and all the political parties were culpable of this but of different degrees.
The major straw that broke the camel’s back of 2015 was the harvest of death of 1436AH hajj in the Islamic holy city of Makkah, Saudi Arabia. With about five days into the climbing of mount arafah, the final major hajj rite, there was a reported case of crane crash from which about hundred intending hajj died while about two hundred were seriously injured. As if it was not enough, the world was jolted with another major catastrophic stampede that occurred on the sallah day at Jamrah when pilgrims went to throw pebbles at Satan. About 1500 lives of pilgrims of different nationalities were lost, many went missing. The 2015 hajj tragedy was unprecedented in the history of hajj rite for the past 25 years.
Another reoccurring decimal that has been staring the entire world in the face since 1948 took a new dimension in the year 2015. The Israeli Zionism unleashed untold terror attack on the Palestinians. It carries on its agenda of total obliteration of Palestinians and occupation of their land. There was excruciating agony, wailing, weeping, jaw dropping, mutilation of the Palestinians from the jackboot of Zionist artillery. There were demonstrations, solidarity for the Palestinians by many objective minds in the world. But all their efforts amounted to nothing as the Zionist Israel is enjoying backing and support from the super power of America and Britain. The Palestinians are now living in fear and apprehension in their God giving land courtesy of the global injustice.
This piece will amount to nothing if it does not make a reference to the activities of ISIS and its genocidal mission in Syria. The Syria uprising has started since 2011 but the death it recorded in the 2015 left many in bewilderment. It started as a revolt against the regime of President Bashar Al-Assad but degenerated into rebellion against the armless civilians. Thousands of Syrians were sent back to meet their lord prematurely. Many met their death while crossing the ocean, seeking asylum in Europe. Many Syrians have been displaced. Many Couples have lost their spouses. Many parents only have succor in the day of judgment to perhaps see their children again. The infiltration of ISIS by Israelis and America is being insinuated in different quarters given their mode of operation, the sophisticated gadget and materials used for their operation as well as the fact that the victims of this Vampire are Muslims as evidence.
Turkey had her own pill of terrorism attack as a group of Turkish going on procession were greeted with explosion living dozens dead. The year was gradually winding up with an ISIS attack in Paris, France. Sporadic gunshot left over hundred of inhabitant dead and many sustained serious degree of injuries. France responded to this by launched an airstrike on Syria living uncountable number of armless men, women and children dead. As if it was not enough, Russia toll the footstep of France in a sympathetic support and launched another airstrike of Syria in an unprofessional manner. Hospitals were bombed with dozens of patients.
All these incessant wanton killings brought to mind the Quranic account of human creation in Qr2 vs30:
“And remember when your Lord said to the angels: Verily, I am going to create mankind on earth. They (angel) said will you create therein those who will make mischief therein and shed blood, while we glorify You with praises and thanks and sanctify You. He (Allah) said, I know that which you do not know.”
From this revelation, it has shown that the wanton killings by men has justified the angels position that God should not create mankind because they will be spilling blood. Whoever that kill unjustly, its better for such a fellow not to be created at all because his/her final abode shall be a pit of hell. In the chapter 5 verse 32 of the glorious Qur’an it was reveal thus:
“Because of that, we ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land – it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind…….”
The above verse points to the fact that any act of killing is a barbaric, sodomy, and does not befit whoever that hopes to meet his Lord in peace. May we not be instrumental to the decimation of God’s creation.
Every mankind is from one soul (Adam) and the religion of racism is from Satan, whoever that propagate racism or wanton killing belong to Satanic fans club. Quran 49Verse 13 says:
“O mankind! We have created you from a male and female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that who is pious. Verily, Allah is all knowing, All-aware.”
