If the Tata Group is the moral compass of the corporate world, JamsetJi Tata is the lighthouse of the Tata Group.
JamsetJi started and put together what is today the Tata Group. He singularly established the Empress Mills, Tata Steel Company, and the Taj Mahal Hotel. All icons.
If JamsetJi had just stopped setting up these icons and passing the baton to the next generation, he would be a legend. But he chose a higher purpose. A purpose that has stood the test of time for over 150 years. The group he established is consistently ranked among the top, usually the topmost, group on values and ethics across the globe.
Fame comes and goes. Values stay.
As is often the case with such legends, they don't like much being written about them. Hesitant in the limelight.
R Gopalakrishnan (Gopal) and Harish Bhat have brought together their many decades of experience at the Tata Group and writing skills from multiple books they have authored, to now write a masterpiece on JamsetJi Tata.
