As we enter Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September 2024, I am reminded of the incredible strength and resilience of the children and families who face this devastating disease with courage. At Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, we have been privileged to stand beside thousands of these warriors in their battle against cancer, providing high-quality care and support in an environment dedicated to their healing and well-being.
Why Childhood Cancer Awareness Matters
Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease for children under 14 in the United States. Despite this, research funding for pediatric cancers remains alarmingly low, with only 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s budget allocated to childhood cancers. This disparity underscores the critical need for awareness and advocacy to ensure that every child has access to the best possible treatments and the hope of a cure.
During this month, I urge everyone to take a moment to reflect on the impact of childhood cancer—not just on the children diagnosed, but on their families, friends, and communities. At Cure 4 The Kids, we see firsthand the emotional, physical, and financial toll that cancer takes, and we are committed to reducing that burden through comprehensive care, innovative treatment options, and long-term survivorship programs.

This September, we are shining a spotlight on the importance of early diagnosis, clinical research, and the need for more equitable access to life-saving therapies.
