Join Me On Team SuperLucasMan

I first had the honor of meeting Lucas Santoro and his family during this year’s Man and Woman of the Year Campaign for LLS. At just 4 years old, Lucas has fought more than most people do in a lifetime. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia two years ago, and today after a brave fight against this disease, Lucas is cancer free. Lucas’ strength has inspired so many people, but for me, his story hits especially close to home. When I look at Lucas, I am reminded of myself and the hardship my parents faced when they thought I had leukemia in 1960. As a result of that experience my parents in 1962 were instrumental in starting the Upstate New York Chapter of The Leukemia Society of America. Lucas’s parents, like mine, have taken the lifesaving work that the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society carries out each year to heart. Now the Santoro’s are taking up the fight again.

Lucas is one of two “Honored Heroes” for this year’s Light the Night Walk on Saturday, October 15th. Please consider donating and walking with me on Team SuperLucasMan in support of this incredible kid and his family.
