In honor of the HAVI’s 15th anniversary, we invite you to join us virtually on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. ET (2:00 – 3:00 p.m. PT) to reflect on the 2009 convening that started the work of the HAVI and celebrate 15 years of violence prevention, milestones in the field of community violence intervention, and our growing network of HVIPs.
The virtual event will feature opening remarks from HAVI Executive Director Fatimah Loren Dreier and will be emceed by the HAVI network’s founder, Marla Becker. Entertainment will be provided by DJ StaceLace, who has brought energy to our past virtual conferences.
Thought-provoking discussions will tell the story of the HAVI network from its origin up to today, including a panel featuring representatives of the eight programs in attendance at the 2009 convening that launched the network now known as the HAVI, and a conversation about the critical role of frontline workers throughout our network’s history, led by Kyndra Simmons, senior director for frontline support and CVI integration at the HAVI, and representatives from the HAVI’s Empowering the Frontline working group.
