As I continue to follow my passion as a photographer, my achievements simply come in the form of being followed and liked by my fellow photographers and the subjects I photograph.

Having been able at times, to combine my love of photography and my passion for music. This has given me so much pleasure and has enabled me to meet and photograph some incredible musicians.

One such musician is Jools Holland, one of my all-time hero’s, not just because of the music he produces but the incredible talent he has discovered over the years.

At this amazing evening in Felixstowe we witnessed performances by the exceptional blues guitar prodigy Toby Lee and the outstanding vocals of Ruby Turner, Louise Marshall, and Sumudu Jayatilaka.

Jools Holland and his 20-piece Rhythm & Blues Orchestra delivered an Incredible mix of boogie-woogie classics and amazing new arrangements. Each and every musician in this band played and integral part in producing a night to remember.

This, to me was a very special evening. My press and photography pass was worn with pride. It was an accomplishment to have been asked to photograph one of the best and most well respected musicians this county has to offer.

As a photographer I attempt to give the viewer not just a sense of the evening but also the emotions which music brings, turning still images into visual stories.

Every concert has its unique flavour, and it’s my job to capture the unique ambience of each event.

Graham you capture the power of live music. With music so accessible in our lives, we tend to take it for granted. Watching and seeing live performances helps us remember and appreciate the muscianship of the performers.
