Journey to Purpose: Embrace Imperfections, Celebrate Progress.

Hello Purpose-Seekers!

In this edition of Purpose with Myriem, let's talk about the idea that purpose is more like an ongoing journey than a final destination. Reflecting on my own experiences as a career coach and purposeful entrepreneur, I can affirm that figuring out your purpose is a continuous exploration, and the quest to be the best version of yourself is an ongoing process.

We all know perfection is hard to achieve, and that's perfectly fine. What matters most is our sincere efforts and the commitment to getting better. As a recent example, I found myself letting go of my accountant after working together for three years. Last week, a situation triggered my assertive finance director mode, leading to me raising my voice at a team member due to what I saw as an unacceptable circumstance.

Thinking about such moments, a French saying comes to mind: "You can't change your nature; it always comes back." However, I don't solely attribute these instances to my past experiences. I see them as part of the journey of seeking purpose – where we sometimes fall into traps or exhibit less-than-ideal behaviours as we navigate the challenges of our environments.

I firmly believe that these moments, while not ideal, are profoundly human. What truly matters is our ability to acknowledge, own, and commit to doing better next time. We all encounter times when we may not react at our best, but it's the commitment to continuous improvement that defines our journey.

Despite my friendly demeanour and a smile that rarely leaves my face, I admit that I can lose my cool, resulting in raised voices. So, what's my remedy when I feel off track? I turn to my husband, sharing my experiences, sometimes still in a raised tone. I know he'll provide honest feedback, not just side with me. Afterward, I reflect on the triggers, think about proactive measures for next time, and seek strength through prayer to overcome challenges and foster inner change for external transformation.

Looking at it differently, challenges often lead to positive change. Perhaps parting ways with my accountant opens the door to finding a better fit for my multiple businesses, fostering growth and success. If my former accountant comes across this, I extend my sincere apologies.

The foundational philosophy of the Purposeek Coaching program lies in the belief that purpose is not a fixed destination but an ever-evolving journey. This core principle serves as the guiding light in our mission to assist people in discovering their purpose and navigating the path to their true career fulfilment. At Purposeek Coaching , we embrace the idea that the pursuit of purpose is continuous, recognising that personal and professional growth is a dynamic and ongoing process.

So let's embrace our purposeful journey, navigate it together, acknowledging our imperfections and celebrating the progress we make along the way. 😊

Stay purposeful,

Good on you for owning the oh-so-infrequent loss of your cool, Myriem - I wasn't sure it was possible! I tend to think the greater loss would have been that of this oppurtunity to share your experience (had you not). In doing so; reminding us we're not robots, nor should we aspire to be, and that humility is never out of fashion. 🙏
