A Journey Towards Workplace Wellness and Work-Life Balance
What sparked your interest in mental well-being?
At a personal level, witnessing how people around me—family, friends, and even myself—have struggled at times with anxiety, stress, or emotional difficulties has made me realize the importance of support systems, awareness, and coping mechanisms.
As an HR professional, I often hear people talk about how stressed they are in the fast-paced work environment.
All these experiences, collectively, have deepened my interest in mental well-being.
How important do you consider mental well-being in the workspace?
My work role involves one-on-one engagements with employees and analyzing employee survey results, which made me recognize just how crucial mental well-being is.
I understand that talking about mental well-being is still taboo for many, but by fostering a culture of openness and support, and by providing resources, we as a workplace can always extend support to help individuals thrive both professionally and personally.

What motivated you to engage with Amaha, and can you tell us more about our partnership?
Last year, we formed an internal workgroup to discuss what initiatives would be beneficial for employee well-being. The group unanimously agreed that we should partner with an agency that could provide counseling services, as well as workshops and surveys to raise awareness about mental health and emotional well-being. Amaha stood out for us because it offered a comprehensive solution. Their app was user-friendly, and they provided surveys, workshops, and self-help groups—exactly what we were looking for.
We also arranged for a few employees to participate in demo sessions with Amaha’s counselors to give us feedback on their experience. Overall, the feedback was positive, so we decided to partner with Amaha for our organization.
How do you keep your work-life balance in check? Anything else you want to share – any anecdote or event that has made a difference for you in this space?
An event that shifted my perspective on work-life balance was a time when I became deeply engrossed in work, leading me to work late hours and neglect my own self-care. I began to feel drained and, at times, felt irritated. This experience taught me the importance of setting clear boundaries between personal and professional life.
While I’m still figuring out the best way to maintain a work-life balance, a few practices help. First, I start my day by writing down all the tasks I must accomplish. When I have a heavy workload, I make it a point to communicate with my manager, asking her to prioritize tasks based on urgency. Aside from that, I focus on giving my best whether I'm working or enjoying my time off.
