The Journey To Tunda Moto – S1E2
The Journey To Tunda Moto – S1E2
Date: Wednesday 13th March 2024
Title: Still On The Drawing Board
(A) Week Three - Backward Looking Statements
What we had set out to achieve back in week one:
1) Create a one page document of what we aim to do, its expected impact and why it is important it gets done.
2) Identify and map out various implementation and funding strategies.
3) Write a proposal (one pager plus maximum 6 page proposal) including a financial model for each implementation and corresponding funding method identified.
4) Identify and create at least 3 free websites for Tunda Moto Program.
5) Identify and create at least 3 social media pages for The Tunda Moto Journey diary.
(B) Week Three – What We Have Achieved
We wiggled a bit for space and got some leg and arm room.
Item 1: One Page Primer
We first created a whole project proposal, after which we used AI GPT (poe.com assistant, Claude3 -Sonnet and Gemini) to each produce a one page summary. From the three pages we then used old school editing and paraphrasing to create a one pager primer.
The item is done and closed.
Item 2: Funding and Implementation Strategies
We identified four different funding strategies that range in scale from small, medium and large and then a mix of any of those three.
The four strategies are:
(i) One acre - using crowd funding;
(ii) Bootstrapping – using boutique financial institutions and banks;
(iii) Phased Implementation – in five phases for example and using needing huge financial resources; and
(iv) Ad-hoc – where different strategies are in play at the same time in different parts of the same country.
The item is done, but it gave birth to cross cutting issues that are applicable across any of the implementation styles – these are styled as items 2.1.
Item 3: Three Six Page Proposals
Creating a robust financial model for the whole project took a longtime than anticipated.
This entailed watching and following 18 hours how to build financial model videos and took 15 working days (with over 6 hours a day single item work schedule - solid proof that age 56 is not 36(
The complete playlist, video durations and which videos to pay attention to is available here.
Next will be to see if it can scale downwards from phases (large scale) to 10 acres with a nursery/collection center (medium scale) all the way down to 1 acre standalone implementation without breaking.
After that we can finish the six page proposals for the three different scales of implementation.
The item is not yet finished and thus still open as item number 3.1, paying homage to the fact something was done but it is not yet finished.
Item 4: Implement A Website With or And A Blog
The Item was not touched at all.
Thus, the item moves forward , still as item 4 but on top of the implementation list.
Item 5: Implement Social Media Pages
The item was not done at all.
Moves forward still as item 5.

(C) What We Have Learned
With each iteration and each deed, done or not, all produce inescapable lessons and ripples.
Item 1: One Page Primer
Using AI frees you from the tyranny of blank pages and speeds up the work flow, but, it creates another new requirement, keen reading and editing.
Item 2: Funding and Implementation Strategies
i) Farm to plate tracing platform;
ii) Produce off-taker(s); (critical)
iii) Inbuilt trust methods to ensure an auditable program; and
iv) Independent monitoring partners.
Item 3: Six Page Proposal
Building a comprehensive robust financial models with 10 different sheets is a labor of love.
(D) Week Three - Forward Looking Statements
What we are gunning for next:
Item 4: Implement A Website With or And A Blog
Initially styled as "Identify and create at least 3 free websites for Tunda Moto Program".
Item 5: Implement Social Media Pages
Initially sated as "Identify and create at least 3 social media pages for The Tunda Moto Journey diary".
2.1 Implementation Mode Cross Cutting Issues
Identify:
i) How to do and implement - Farm to plate tracing platform;
ii) Who are the potential produce Off-taker(s) and how to partner with them as early in the project as possible;
iii) How to inbuilt trust methods into the project to ensure event capturing and thus program auditing.
iv) Who are the potential Independent monitoring partners and how to partner with them.
3.1 Three Six Page Proposals
Write a proposal (one pager plus maximum 6 page proposal) including a financial model for each implementation and corresponding funding method identified.
Make the whole project foundational financial model to scale downwards elegantly and give it a dashboard.
Comments
We are still on the drawing board and yet to pack the traveling bag and pick a walking stick, for we shall be going down adventurous paths.
Do you have any?
Thank you.
