JPC Monthly Rewind: February
Sustainability Report
Today we published our 2023 Sustainability Report. It comes at a time where CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) reporting is just around the corner and the global climate crisis continues to escalate. The construction industry has a big part to play, and we are committed to being a leader in this area. While we have been making significant strides in recent years in the area of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance), all of which is outlined in this report, we are also making ambitious commitments in order to meet the challenges of our industry. We continue to work with our clients, consultants and supply chain to collaboratively tackle sustainability.

Saint Augustine’s
In line with our ongoing commitment to community support, we recently unveiled an independent living space and sensory garden completed for Saint Augustine’s school in Stillorgan, who cater for 160 students with additional needs. Located near three major projects we were working on in the area, Saint Augustine’s was chosen for the vital service it provides to families, both locally and in the wider Dublin area. Completed by our team with valuable input from the teachers at St Augustine’s, this project has ensured students at the school access to spaces where they learn life-long skills and cultivate independence. We take great pride in completing this project, which not only supports our community but also enriches the facilities available to the exceptional students and staff at Saint Augustine's. A massive thanks to our supply chain and design partners for their invaluable assistance in delivering this project.
Rosslare Europort
Our team continues to make significant progress on this critical project that will provide necessary permanent infrastructure at Rosslare Europort on behalf of Office of Public Works. Since breaking ground in June 2023, we have advanced construction on the 200,000 m2 site, while ensuring port operations remain ongoing. In terms of buildings Phase 1 piling is complete with RC works advanced to enable Structural Steel, Blockwork and Cladding to commence. External civil works is advancing at pace in terms of roads, associated infrastructure with circa 20,000 m2 of concrete placed to the new trailer export yard. We acknowledge the crucial role that our supply chain partners are playing in the success of the project. As we maintain a strong focus on safety and quality we look forward to a busy and exciting 2024!

Visit to Presentation Secondary School
At the beginning of February, our Graduate Surveyor, Shakera Looby, visited Presentation Secondary School in Tipperary, where she was a former pupil. She spoke with Transition Year students, sharing insights into the careers they can have within the construction industry. It was a great opportunity to engage the next generation of talent and hopefully lead them to a career in our industry!
