The power of AI in the recruitment process
This month we’ve been active on the HR circuit, speaking with industry experts, sharing best practice and keeping abreast of key trends. The topic of the day was the future of AI in HR. As you can imagine it sparked lots of great discussion. We agreed AI will impact the recruitment process making it more efficient, objective, and strategic. Here’s some of the ways AI can be used to meet your recruitment goals in the future.
Create job descriptions & adverts
Writing job descriptions manually is often time-consuming and repetitive. Now with tools such as OpenAI GPT, you can provide some starter information such as the job title, company name, job type, and location, and the model will do the rest. It’s a great starting point but remember to align the copy with your culture and values to make it authentic.
Automate CV shortlisting
One of the most time-consuming tasks in recruitment is sourcing candidates. AI-powered tools can significantly reduce the time by analysing thousands of CV’s and online profiles to identify potential candidates that match the job requirements. If you use LinkedIn to source candidates, you’re probably already using AI. LinkedIn Recruiter uses a complex AI system to help recruiters identify pools of qualified candidates.
Chatbots and virtual assistants
This is a great way to improve candidate experience and communication. Recruiting can involve a lot of repetitive tasks such as answering candidate inquiries, scheduling interviews, and providing general information about the company and the role. This takes up a lot of recruiter time and frustrates candidates when they don’t get the information they need. Imagine how effectively AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants can handle these tasks?
Video interviews and analysis
Conducting interviews can be a time-consuming and resource-intensive process. AI technology enables companies to conduct video interviews. Some AI algorithms can analyse video interviews and assess candidates' facial expressions, body language, and speech patterns to gauge their level of confidence and suitability for the role. Pretty amazing stuff!
Predictive analytics for talent retention
AI doesn't stop at the hiring stage - it can also be used to improve talent retention. By analysing historical data and employee performance metrics, AI algorithms can identify patterns that indicate higher chances of employee turnover. This allows companies to take proactive measures to address potential issues before it's too late.
There’s so much potential with AI we’ll be revisiting the topic in future newsletters. Next time we’ll look at the best AI recruiting tools on the market and how to hire AI talent for your team to get ahead of the game. Remember to subscribe to receive a copy of next month’s newsletter 👈
