World Illustration Awards 2024 Longlist
Congratulations to all the artists who have been Longlisted in the World Illustration Awards! The Longlist of 500 projects has been selected from over 5,000 entries by a team of 30 judges.
Directory of Illustration artists made an impressive showing in the WIA Longlist this year, with over 40 artists being selected! Representing nearly every category in the competition, the DI Longlisted artists span editorial, exploration, science & technology and more. In a special series of articles, we will be featuring these artists and their Longlisted projects by category.

Interview with Jeff Hinchee About His NY Times Covers
Jeff Hinchee has been creating wonderful cover art for the New York Times. He recently completed his 14th cover. We had the joy of chatting with him to learn more about his process and his experience in creating these excellent NY Times cover pieces.

Jessie Lin - City & State NY
Jessie Lin illustrated a vibrant cover for City & State New York’s Pride issue. The cover story discusses how trans “culture wars” have been spurred by recent politics in New York. The issue also spotlights 50 LGBTQ+ leaders who are on the frontlines of the fight for equality in government, politics and business.

Matt Chinworth illustrated an article about students "Preparing for an AI-driven Workplace," for McCombs Magazine, University of Texas, McCombs Business School.
Emma Harding - The Lancet Neurology Journal
As part of an ongoing commission for The Lancet Neurology Journal front covers, Emma Harding recently created the cover for their June issue, highlighting the effects of global warming and the climate crisis on neurological brain disorders.

In his fun and colorful style, Carlos Miranda captures the experiences of video game makers, players, and streamers in his latest illustrations for Chut! Magazine.

NEW Artist - Travis Foster
New to the Directory of Illustration is Travis Foster , a wonderful illustrator specializing in advertising, publishing, and editorial illustrations. He graduated with a degree in illustration from Ringling College of Art and Design and currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
In addition to illustration, he enjoys writing children’s books and working as an agent, representing other illustrators. Travis loves creating editorial work for magazines.
