I am very sorry for the delay and lack of content. I have been travelling for the OH and CHIME conferences.
- Last week I was at the Oracle Health conference in Nashville TN. I had never been to Nashville - what an interesting place. I would describe it as a bit of Texas, Las Vegas and Key West all rolled into one. The conference it self was different from previous years. It was sales and product focused vs. learning how to use what we have differently. I have debated wether I should share my opinions of the new platform, but in the end I think I need to. The new ambulatory module is very nice, but far from a platform. It sits on top of the existing config tools (including users and security) and data modules like lab and radiology. To me, this is akin to putting a rooftop patio on a crumbling foundation. I am hopeful for the future and if what is planned happens, I do believe they will leapfrog the industry and am confident enough I have volunteered Bermuda as an early adopter/beta testing site.
- I am at CHIME CIO forum this week - more to come next week
