Ken's Native English Expressions

Ken's Native English Expressions

This week's 1st expression: “To follow suit

Meaning: to do the same thing as someone else is doing/has done

Example: “All of my friends decided to become lawyers, so I decided to FOLLOW SUIT.”

This week's 2nd expression: “For all I know

Meaning: according to the information I have (BUT… there may well be something I don’t know!).

Example: “I haven’t spoken to John for a long time, so, FOR ALL I KNOW, he may not come to the party tonight.”

This week's 3rd expression: “The flip side

Meaning: the other side of an issue/an argument.

Example: “If I marry a wealthy woman/man, I will live well. THE FLIP SIDE of this is that people will accuse me of marrying him/her for money.”

Q: How would YOU say these expressions in French?
