A key commitment to climate change with facts 🌎

A key commitment to climate change with facts 🌎

Hello everyone! 🤗 We're excited to bring you the latest updates in clean energy from the recent Climate Summit, COP28 held in Dubai 📍Let’s delve into our key takeaways.

"We have witnessed a COP for action and we must congratulate the presidency for helping to achieve a positive outcome. Agree on a transition away from fossil fuels and at the same time"

as our president has assured. For Ignacio Galán:

"Today begins the hard work to achieve the goals set, which involves mobilizing huge investments in renewables, grids and storage, the other two critical pillars for a stable energy transition."

We proudly represented global leadership in combating climate change at the conference. Our president defended the goal of tripling renewables by 2030.

In a day full of activities, Ignacio Galán also met with young activists at a UNICEF- participated event, exploring the career prospects offered by the green revolution.

A significant highlight of COP28 was our announcement of a new major green alliance with Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company) for a RECORD joint investment: €15 billion in offshore wind and green hydrogen installations in Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States 🌿 🔋 🌊.

The alliance’s first major projects involves investing  in the 1,400 megawatt (MW) 🌅 East Anglia 3 offshore wind farm, in which Masdar could reach a stake of up to 49%.

MORE commitment to the UK 📈

Continuing with the good news, Iberdrola are expanding our investments in the United Kingdom, allocating €12 billion (€14 billion) for 2024-2028. This funding is dedicated to enhancing electricity grids and renewable 💪🏽 projects

This was announced by Ignacio Galán at the Global Investment Summit organized in London by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, where he pointed out that:

"Iberdrola is proud to contribute to supporting the UK's leading position in decarbonisation"

Renewables around the world 🌎

We're excited to share progress from across the Atlantic regarding our mega offshore wind farm Vineyard Wind I, the first commercial-scale in the U.S.

The first 5️⃣ wind turbines have already been installed and will start producing electricity before the end of the year- a significant milestone👏🏽

Once completed, this wind farm will provide clean energy to more than 400,000 families and businesses in Massachusetts.

Strategic alliance to promote GREEN 💚 mobility

Recently, we’ve been delighted to announce 🤗 a new joint venture between Iberdrola and bp pulse, aimed at advancing electric mobility in Spain and Portugal 🚗.

The new collaboration will invest €1,000 million to create the most extensive fast and ultra-fast public charging network in the Iberian Peninsula, with the aim of reaching 11,700 points by 2030 🔋🔌.

We’re excited about this new step towards cleaner and more sustainable mobility!

Amazing DRON 👀 Views

And finally, we want to share how we use the drone in our offshore wind farm in Saint Brieuc to review our wind turbines.

And that's it for today 😉. Don't forget to follow us on our other social media platforms for more diverse and engaging content: X, TikTok, Pinterest o Youtube.

You can also take a look at our employment channel if you’re interested in joining the great Iberdrola family. Don’t miss the opportunity to help us shape the future of energy.

Keep up the good work Iberdrola, but I am not too convinced that COP 28 needed over 80,000 delegates to reaffirm what was already agreed, or that Adnoc Execs are best placed to set global KPIs.
