Many companies work with a 𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀, which presents a 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 for forklifts. Using 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝘀 can lead to pallet and product 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲, and more critically, to 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 and potential 𝗶𝗻𝗷𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀. Traditional methods like fork markings or improvised pallet-stopping are common, but they fail to optimize the loading and unloading process effectively.
In industries like 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿, 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟯𝗣𝗟’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀 are the norm, the 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗸 length is real. Forks that are too long can protrude dangerously, risking damage to goods and even worse, causing accidents. This 𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 not only hampers productivity but also poses a 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲𝘀. In addition, the 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 is also highly suitable for 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘀 at the same time so that here too the forklift can be used more efficiently.

This comprehensive title sums it up, especially when forklift drivers regularly need to pick up long pallets or handle two pallets at once. In many cases, 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝘃𝗲𝘀 are still purchased and 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲. At an average hourly rate of €16.00, this cost totals €8.00 per day. Over a work week of 40 hours and an average work duration of 45 work weeks per year (in the Netherlands), these 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 €𝟭𝟴𝟬𝟬.𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿. Moreover, in the 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀, 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟭𝟮 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿, other tasks are not performed that could have made money, such as loading and unloading additional trucks.
In addition, fork extension sleeves require a lot of physical effort from the forklift operator. A 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬-𝟮𝟱 𝗸𝗴, which, a𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 (𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗦𝗛) 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, 𝗶𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 because of the 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗷𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, especially backpain.

A significant degree of automation and robotization is employed at the Meijer Group. Currently, semi-finished products are continuously, 24/7, transported from a buffer warehouse to the welding robots, milling machines and bending cells and discharged using AGVs. These investments are primarily focused on repetitive jobs. For small production runs, craftsmanship remains essential. Each stage of the production process, such as welding, fulfills a crucial role, and the Meijer Group has extensive in-house expertise. If for any reason this expertise is lacking, it is hired externally to meet all requirements.
Meijer has been in compliance with several international ISO standards for many years, including ISO 3834-2 that address quality requirements for metal welding. In addition to meeting standards, we strive to continuously improve our own requirements. With regard to welding, we are pleased with our cooperation with LASconsult, a specialized quality assurance company.

When we think of pallet handling, we often think of 𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 or pallet handling within 𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀. To arrive at a fully assembled product, semi-finished products must first be stored and pallets are used for this purpose, often the EPAL pallets. Suppliers can deliver the 𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗟 𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗲, and also during internal transport and or storage, it may be necessary to pick up the pallets from the long (1200 mm) and or short side (800 mm).
𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝟭𝟭𝟱𝟬 𝗺𝗺 and, therefore, 𝗱𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆 with the specific EPAL pallet dimensions. The 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴, which can cause damage and injury.
𝗧𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆, 𝗞𝗢𝗢𝗜®𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 for those companies that have already switched to ReachForks. By touching a specific pallet on the display, the ReachForks will go out and stop at the preset value.
