Last night, I trusted myself.
Last night, I trusted myself.
I spoke at an academic conference with other professors and higher education staff about my unfolding understanding of liberation.
And my authority was not other published authors, studies, or scholars.
I shared what I was learning from trees--their channeled messages to me via my journal.
We listened to music, poetry and meditated.
At the end, I waited nervously for their responses.
They loved it!
It turns out there are a lot of people having secret relationships with trees, plants, birds and other parts of earth.
Are you one of them?
What I've noticed is that many of us keep that feeling of connectedness and peace we derive from nature compartmentalized and separate from our professional or political lives.
But at what cost?
There's not only the cost of feeling like an imposter at work, but there's more.
What if you receive a message from earth mother that changes how we look at everything?
I've gotten some very challenging messages from the trees that showed me I was attached to pain and trauma from the past.
They've made me wonder what I mean by justice.
They have transformed my theory of change.

This Juneteenth I invite you to a Live virtual Walk & What's Good show.
We will spend an hour together.
First we'll do a virtual power walk for about 20 minutes and then I'll be interviewed about the radical messages I've been getting from trees and plants.
I think it's perfect to commemorate the end of slavery in the US by getting in our bodies and reflecting on what it means TO BE free.
We will also weave music and poetry into the experience.
Sound good?
You can sign up to join me below:
I'm looking forward to sharing tree teachings on trauma and the past; guilt and obligation; and how to live freely.
