TECH UPDATES
Automated Identification of Rural Areas for Urban Heat Islands Analysis
We've developed an algorithm to enhance Urban Heat Islands (UHI) analysis by efficiently identifying suitable rural areas, which traditionally serve as baselines for measuring UHI effects. Unlike the manual, time-consuming, and subjective methods previously used, our algorithm automates this selection process, analyzing geographical data to pinpoint areas that fulfill specific criteria for UHI studies.
This automation not only increases accuracy and consistency, eliminating potential biases of manual selection, but also speeds up the analysis process. by providing a more reliable and efficient means of identifying baseline areas for UHI studies, our algorithm serves as a foundational tool for informed urban development and environmental policymaking. Consequently, this innovation not only advances the field of urban climatology but also contributes to the creation of cooler, more sustainable urban environments.

TECH SPOTLIGHTS
Compliance Mastery: Empowering Companies to Navigate the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)
The European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) represents a landmark legislative effort by the European Union to combat global deforestation and forest degradation driven by EU consumption.
The EUDR mandates that companies placing certain commodities and products on the EU market conduct rigorous due diligence to ensure their supply chains do not contribute to deforestation or forest degradation. The regulation specifically targets commodities known to have significant impacts on forests, including palm oil, soy, beef, wood, cocoa, and coffee, as well as derived products like leather, chocolate, and furniture.
Importers are required to provide precise geolocation data for the lands where the commodities were produced, ensuring traceability and transparency in the supply chain.
As the EUDR sets a new benchmark for environmental responsibility in global supply chains, we are leveraging our expertise in satellite imagery analysis and artificial intelligence to provide comprehensive support for compliance.
If you want to know more about EUDR, contact us at our email address.

What makes this award truly unique is that it was chosen by public vote. This shows the strong support and belief our community has in what we're trying to achieve with sustainable AI.
At the festival, we shared how we use AI and remote sensing technologies to address major environmental and urban issues. Whether it's keeping an eye on deforestation, the growth of cities, or forecasting flood risks, we showed how AI can be a game-changer in making positive changes for the environment.
