Launching AquaAction's First-Ever Giving Campaign!

With GivingTuesday approaching - a global day of charitable giving celebrated on December 3 - we are delighted to announce the kick-off of AquaAction's new giving campaign, which will run from November 12 to December 3, 2024.

GivingTuesday is a special time of year when people around the world mobilize to support causes close to their hearts. This movement inspires acts of kindness and creates an opportunity for everyone to make a tangible, positive impact.

At AquaAction , our mission is to empower young adults and innovators to tackle North America's most pressing water issues.

The water crisis is set to become the defining challenge of our generation, and today's actions can have a real impact tomorrow. While we enjoy one of the world's largest reserves of fresh water, it is under threat, and the repercussions of its depletion will be seen economically, environmentally, and health-wise.

AquaAction's campaign aims to raise $10,000 to support innovative projects led by young visionaries and emerging changemakers. These initiatives, made possible through our programs, are dedicated to securing a healthier future for our freshwater resources and communities. Throughout the campaign, we will spotlight the lasting impact of entrepreneurs who have participated in our programs over the years and continue to drive meaningful change today.

Let's start with Kat Kavanagh, the first winner of AquaAction's AquaHacking Challenge.

Kat is Executive Director and Founder of Water Rangers, a non-profit organization focused on creating accessible tools for community water monitoring in Canada and the UK. Created in the wake of their AquaHacking Challenge win in 2015, Water Rangers still operates relentlessly today for collective participation when it comes to the health of our water resources.

''Over 200,000+ water quality data points have been captured on the Water Rangers platform, 25,000+ people have been trained on water quality testing, and 5,500+ water quality test kits have been distributed to citizens across North America.''  - Kat Kavanagh
