Lead Collection — Attract

Knowing how to leverage lead magnets to attract prospects will give your small business a competitive edge.  This is especially true when you understand the needs and motivations of your target audience, which will help you create powerful lead magnets.

Lead magnets can be presented to your prospects in many ways and a good place to start is to ensure that your website provides valuable content that will attract your target audience.

Some great examples of lead magnets for your website include:

·     Webinars

·     Infographics

·     Podcasts

·     Guides

·     Virtual conferences and events

·     White papers

·     E-books

·     Surveys and quizzes

·     Product tutorials and demonstrations

·     Easy social access through icons

·     Product videos

After you have enticed your target audience to access your content, you have a great opportunity to collect or contact information using a submission form.

Some tips to consider when asking your lead for information:

·     Only ask for the necessary information to deliver your lead magnet. You don't want to intimidate your lead with too many questions. Usually, one to three should suffice.

·     When asking them to sign up for a newsletter, only start out by collecting their email address.

·     Forms that pop up when a user attempts to leave the page can be more effective than an entrance pop-up, as they won't interrupt the customer’s browsing experience and discourage them from spending more time on the site.
