Leading with Faith: Embracing Kingdom Leadership in 2024

Step into 2024 with a fresh commitment to faith-based leadership, drawing strength from the Holy Spirit to navigate emotions, influence others, and walk in alignment with God's will.

As we step into the New Year, we're called to embrace a leadership journey that's deeply rooted in self-discovery and illuminated by our faith. Leadership, at its core, is about influencing hearts and minds, and when we ground our leadership in what God declares over us, we can overcome the enemy's deceptions.

Let's delve into emotional intelligence, not merely from a secular perspective but through the lens of Christ-centered wisdom. How does the Holy Spirit guide us to manage our emotions and behaviors in ways that honor God and reflect Jesus' love?

  • Identity Source: Internal vs. External:

Where do we draw our identity? Is it from internal, divine connection, or from external, worldly judgments? As we enter the New Year, it's time to reflect on our behaviors that are directed by the Holy Spirit. Let's ask, "Holy Spirit, show me the behaviors that draw me closer to Jesus' love for others, all to glorify God in my leadership."

  • Worldly Traps: Power, Popularity, Position, Passion:

These are the snares that can capture our identity in Christ. The compulsion to control can distort our true source of identity, leaving us prone to anxiety and fear. When we give more weight to external situations than the power of God within us, we risk damaging our relationships.

  • Listening for God's Whisper:

In the midst of chaos, God is whispering. Let's commit to being ALERT to His voice in the New Year. Heeding the guidance of the Holy Spirit reminds us of Jesus' teachings: to know the right path and to walk in it (Isaiah 30:21).

  • Jesus: Our Model of Emotional Intelligence:

In John 15, Jesus teaches us about abiding in His love and extending that love to others. To remain in His love means to love others as He has loved us. We must first experience Jesus' love within ourselves to be able to share it—an essential aspect of Christ-based emotional intelligence.

  • Overcoming Stress and the Enemy's Intent:

Stress is the significance we give to external pressures that can define us, but remember, the enemy's aim is to destroy our divine purpose. Jesus promises life in abundance. By recognizing our identity in Christ, we can counteract negative emotions and lean into our faith.

  • Protecting Inner Peace and Relationships:

The enemy seeks to disrupt our tranquility and tear apart our connections. By catching negative emotions early, we can control their influence on us. James provides a blueprint for emotional success: submit to God, resist the devil, and watch him flee.

  • Embracing the Holy Spirit's Wisdom:

As we read through James 4, let's invite the Holy Spirit to guide us on the behaviors to embrace or release in 2024. Submit to God, be vigilant, and stand firm as a leader who desires to lead like Jesus. Resist fleshly desires, creating space daily for God to awaken Christ-centered emotional intelligence within us, through the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

  • Conclusion: Kingdom Ambassadors Making an Appeal:

As Kingdom ambassadors, we're called to let God's love flow through us, transforming lives and winning souls for His glory. Let's pledge to operate in the Kingdom way—making 2024 a year marked by purpose, love, and leadership that reflects the heart of Jesus in all our words and actions.
