Lessen Your Constant Cravings For Sugary Treats!
Lessen Your Constant Cravings For Sugary Treats!
Sugary treats tend to be quite a dangerous delicacy to have. They seem innocent. After all, what is wrong with just one?
As I have discussed in my previous blog post, we tend to eat sugar because, we’re not eating enough nutrient-rich food for our body to function.
Donuts are a terrible way to satiate your constant cravings!
Even if eating mostly healthy, you might find that the allure of sugar is so irresistible that you just can’t stop your constant cravings for its delicious taste.
We’ve all been there–it’s nothing to be ashamed of.
That’s why I’m giving you some top-shelf practical advice that will help sweeten the deal (pun intended) in cutting out sugar from your life forever.
Start slow:
Cutting out all the sugar from your diet can be quite a Herculean task, with the short-term punishment overwhelming the long-term health benefits that you can experience.
So we recommend that when you get those constant cravings for sugar, you lessen your sugar intake. Put only one teaspoon of sugar in your coffee, or just one chocolate a week instead of one a day.
With these methods, you shall ease yourself out from your sugary prison soon enough.
Use sugar alternatives:
Sometimes, we just cannot resist a good sugary treat, especially if the food itself is bland without it. In this case, we recommend that you use sugar alternatives instead!
There are many natural sugar alternatives that you can use, like stevia, coconut sugar or monk fruit. If you are curious to know more, here’s a short guide of sugar alternatives you might love.
Try sugar-free gum:
Sometimes, our constant cravings of sugar just strike us, unwilling to relinquish its hold on you even as you try and move on with your life.
When that happens, try chewing a piece of sugar-free gum sweetened with xylitol (stay away from artificial sweeteners). Not only will it help you satiate those feelings, but the chewing activity itself will calm you down.
Eat fruits as desserts:
After every meal, if you are the kind of indulge in a little bit of sweetness every now and then, why not try eating naturally-sweet fruits instead?
Fruits have natural sugars–which are healthier than the normal sugars because it has no preservatives–and these natural sugars will help curb those constant cravings for sugar quickly.
Fruits are healthy AND sweet for your body!
Add fennel seeds to your diet:
Finally, if you are just having a hard time leaving your sugar addiction behind, we recommend adding fennel seeds to your diet.
A naturally-sweet but sugarless seed from the fennel plant, you can add them to your cooking or chew them raw for your own care when you get the munchies for candies.
