Let's Tap Dance Into 2024!

From all of us at Pipsqueak Animation, we wish you all the best as we head into 2024!

As always, we like to take this time to reflect back on the year just ending and look forward to the new year. For us at Pipsqueak Animation, 2023 was both challenging and empowering. It was challenging due to the overall economy and the complications navigating two strikes, but empowering because we had time to develop new material and explore brand-new business models. Since no one was buying original material, we took two different tracks for our latest development projects.

First, we decided not to wait for anyone to greenlight one of our series and instead launched a brand-new YouTube channel called Dogster Kid Songs about a month ago. The channel features bouncy tunes and fun, educational, and interactive animation for preschool and early elementary-age kids. Our first video far exceeded our expectations, and we're excited to release a ton of new content for the channel in 2024. We have a sound business model to grow the IP but succeed or fail, it feels great not to wait for anyone else to tell us "yes." Second, with time on our side, we spent a significant part of the year pushing the development of our CG show for 4-7-year-olds, Animixies, far past the point where we would normally take things on our own. You are the first to get a sneak peek at our efforts in our image gallery above. We're excited to start showing folks the fruits of our labor (including a nearly 2-minute full CG trailer) at Kidscreen in February. Many thanks to our great production partners, Citrus Ink Studios Pvt. Ltd. for their stellar work on the trailer. We hope to report back next year with positive updates!

In other news, Bejuba! Entertainment acquired worldwide distribution rights for our 2D kids show, Grounded, which we developed with Scottish studio, HEY DAISY MOON. We're thrilled to be working with Tatiana and her team at Bejuba! You can check out an image of our adolescent kid caterpillars rocking out in the gallery above.

Some other highlights:

• Our second original short for Sesame Street called 3 Horses aired on Max this year.
• We designed/animated a retro-90s animated "host" named Cheffy for the hit Hulu cooking show, Secret Chef.
• And we continue to work with our great client, StoryCorps Studios. While we made many videos for StoryCorps this year, the one we are highlighting is for an initiative called One Small Step which attempts to facilitate conversation between people with opposing political views. We animated their first video highlighting politicians in Congress. Tim Burchett and Dean Phillips might disagree on just about everything politically but they're still friends who can speak to one another civilly and that's a start,
