Leucophyllum x Dragoon Dream PP#33806

Howdy Plant Lovers!

We have a treat for you this week, a NEW Leucophyllum hybrid name Dragoon Dream!  You see, the Dragoon Mountains are the closest to our new location, so why complicate things. We really just liked the name, plus the plant was found at our new location after some open pollination occurred. You might say, Mother Nature just doing her magic and giving us beautiful gifts.

Our newest Leucophyllum Dragoon Dream PP# 33806 is likely a cross between L. zygophyllum and L. frutescens which is showcased in the wavy, cupped, silvery, upright foliage that grows to 6-8 feet tall by 5 feet wide. Prolific, large magenta-purple flowers cluster at the branch ends from May-October and are triggered to bloom by increased humidity in the air.  This lovely new introduction will be perfect for screening, privacy, or any where a medium sized space needs to be filled. As with allLeucophyllums, they are best grown in full sun or reflected heat with minimal water and well drained soil.  And remember, Leucophyllums look their best when not hedged or pruned into funny shapes like squares or orbs, plus constant shearing decreases their life span.  A natural shape is the most attractive look,  and the best way to make sure you’ll see the most flowers. Be good to your plants. 😊

I love the colors of both the flowers and the foliage. And it's a tall Leucophyllum as well. 6-8'. Wow!
