Life, It has a funny way of snapping you right back into reality

I have had many things that have happened that have shaped my life. The most influential one was the day I got the call that my mother had passed. I still remember it like it was yesterday.

The phone call that I received from my father that evening will never leave my memory. I had just finished building a swing set for my twin daughters and I got the call. I originally thought it was my younger brother, who was supposed to visit that weekend, giving me an excuse on why he couldn't make it. I would have been happy with that call, but the news that was being delivered changed me forever.

I don't look at things the same anymore. Time is much more precious to me now, especially not that I am a father. I don't waste a minute.

Today, as I came into work, I got the news of what had happened last night on our 2nd shift. One of our employees had collapsed. They had to resuscitate him 3 times prior to the paramedics showing up. He was taken to the hospital and then life flighted to Syracuse. We have not received good news about his health and it looks like that he may not make it.

He may be gone, just like that. And I feel for his kids, as I got the same news the same way that they did last night.

The point, don't waste your time on this earth. It goes by fast and can be taken from you in a second. Live everyday the best that you can and for god sakes, ENJOY IT.

How did I miss this? I am in agreement that life is fragile and time goes by so fast. My sincere condolences. This is an excellent reminder, try to enjoy each day and let anyone you love know how much you love them as often as you can.
