Career - Highlights
Dr. Opitz has been a Senior Executive Partner at SEViX GmbH since 2024 and a Managing Partner at OP Advisory Services GmbH since 2012. He specializes in supporting companies through restructuring, M&A processes, and digitalization.
At Aryzta AG, as Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO), Dr. Opitz led the reorganization and sale of two major subsidiaries in the USA and Brazil, successfully managed the necessary carve-out, and implemented a Business Intelligence (BI) system. During his tenure at a leading DIY chain and building materials retailer, he achieved a 70% debt reduction and a sevenfold increase in EBIT.
Previously, as Head of Restructuring at Droege International Group, Dr. Opitz was instrumental in the realignment of Trenkwalder International, focusing particularly on the Turkish subsidiary with 10,000 employees. He also restructured and successfully sold the Dutch company ICTS Europe B.V. on behalf of a banking consortium.
At orizon GmbH, Dr. Opitz oversaw the acquisition and integration of multiple companies, managed refinancing post-covenant breach, and tripled the operating result. As Managing Director of SITECO Beteiligungs GmbH & Co KG, he tripled the operating result and executed extensive restructuring measures, including plant mergers.
His strategic leadership at STAR 21 NETWORKS AG and Acxit Capital Management GmbH was pivotal in major sales negotiations and acquisition financing. Dr. Opitz began his distinguished career at Gebr. Otto KG and BASF, where he implemented significant optimizations and reorganizations.
Dr. Opitz holds a PhD in Business Administration and an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business.
