#57-LinkedIn Tips

I always emphasize that LinkedIn is a fantastic opportunity for personal branding and business. It's also your 24/7 virtual resume.

Regardless of your reason for being here, it's essential to keep your profile up to date.

For those who are "Open to Work," pay attention to these tips:

  • Ensure you have a "LinkedIn All-Star Profile" (if you don't know how to do it, comment on this post, and I'll help you).

  • Keep your profile visibility set to public (this assists headhunters and recruiters in accessing your information).

  1. Click on the session Public profile & URL on the right, below the "Me" icon.

2. Then access the Edit Visibility session on the right side.

3. Be sure you keep the appearance as public.

  • Add your phone number to your internal settings (making it easier for recruiters and interested companies to contact you).

  1. Access the icon on the top of your profile, below the background picture.

2. Scroll down on the Basic Info until you find the Contact Info.

3. Click and edit.

  • Include a professional photo to stand out.

  1. Think the first impression counts, so choose your best picture.
  2. Keep it professional.
  3. You can smile. A smile conveys more reciprocity.

  • Specify your job preferences, regions, and work models in the job preferences settings.

  1. Access the Icon I am... and then find the Option Looking for a job.

2. You can add 5 job titles max.

3. Choose the Location Types.

4. Choose the Start date.

5. Select the Employment types.

6. Choose the Visibility: Recruiters Only or All LinkedIn Members.

- If you are still working I strongly recommend keeping the options hidden (Recruiters Only).

- The Open to Work Badge is optional, it appears when selecting the option "All LinkedIn Members".

7. Save your options.

  • Activate job alerts for companies you're interested in working for:

  1. Follow the companies of your preference.
  2. Create a job alert including the position you are open to (every time this company posts a job, you are going to receive the job alert.

  • Access the platform daily (download the mobile app).

It helps you keep your profile active.

  • Engage in posts, pools, and contribute to articles.

It's a great opportunity to demonstrate your expertise and share insights.

  • Participate in online events.

It helps you to grow your network and keep updated regarding the trends on the job market.

Remember: "Out of sight, out of mind."

So, keep your network active; this helps you connect with more professionals and showcase your expertise in the field.

I hope you find this article insightful.
