LinkedIn & Your Appendix! What's the connection?

Today, there are so many different things I wanted to write about in this week's instalment of Leads from #LinkedIn...

In the end, decided on this as felt that it was a message worth sharing...

For those of you who are in my circle, you know the 3 words that I go on and on and on and on and on about...and on and on and on...(OK, you get the gist)

COMMITMENT, ACTION & CONSISTENCY

These 3 are essential ingredients when it comes to achieving success!

Yet there are many who THINK about these 3 elements; they even take initial steps & move towards wanting to:

👉 Take Action

👉 Implement & Do

👉 Remain Consistent (even when things seem a challenge)

Yet, that old devil on the shoulder, whispering in their ear tells them, "to think about it", "do it later", "one day", "you can't because...", "they're not ready"

Or you believe you will save time & money...oh yes, money if you do it on your own. "You don't need an expert" (there's that devil again),

I know you know what I mean...

But here's the thing, if you had to remove your appendix, would you do it yourself or would you get an expert to do it?

So why should it be any different when it comes to investing in yourself or your business? After all, isn't that what you want your clients do to - choose you as the expert!

Since listening to so many people on Clubhouse, LinkedIn Audio and on my LinkedIn Lives - I experience this push & pull within people. They know they need my help, they see the value it would give them, they're want to improve - yet something stops them.

Fears, limiting thoughts and that little devil (telling them they're not good enough)

So here's my take on those 3 words, in relation to success and why activating all 3 will help you your LinkedIn success:

  • COMMITMENT: To achieve success in anything, you need to COMMIT to the cause. Rather than constantly thinking about what you should do - you've got to make the first move to commit. Make the decision; yes it may seem risky - even if it's a small risk. yes it may feel scary and you'll even question whether you have done the right thing. That's just your 'safe' brain wanting to protect you. Whenever you make the decision to grow, there is always pain. Hence why they call it 'growing pains'. Commitment is then followed by... Make a commitment to learning LinkedIn and using it effectively. Stop trying to do it all yourself and ask for help so you're not sat there trying to perfect a shit golf swing. Learn the right 'swing' and build on your LinkedIn game
  • ACTION: Nothing happens without ACTION. Making decisions and taking risks, even small risks, will move you forward but this has to include some form of implementation. The difference between Thinking and Action - is the actual DOING. For example, on LinkedIn, start creating content. Even if it's once a day, 3 times a week to start off with. Or start reaching out to people to grow your network. Start doing something rather than putting it off till tomorrow. Because as Will Rogers says...

  • CONSISTENCY: So now you're on the right track, you need to keep on moving :-). And as you move, you may be faced with blocks, detours and breakdowns - but as long as you have the destination dialled in, you'll get where you need to. It's so easy to give up when things don't work at first glance. This is a common trait of many who they 'tried' LinkedIn and it didn't work. Often it's because you didn't apply the right tactics and if you did, you wanted instant gratification - didn't get it and stopped! There are no easy / quick fixes so time to stop listening to the false promises out there. LinkedIn is about creating relationships and relationship-building takes time. 10% of your ideal clients - are ready to take action now and want your service or product. There are another 90% who potentially have a problem you can solve - but for a number of reasons aren't ready to buy. By being consistent, you'll also capture people there...

I just want to end this newsletter this week to say, if YOU want a change, then YOU have to change. Whatever decision you decide to ACT on or not, won't make any difference to anyone else, but will make a difference to yours
