LIVE ACTION REMAKE

LIVE ACTION REMAKE

Film theorists spend a great deal of time trying to understand an age old question; who is a representation of who? Are we illustrations of what the film industry deems a reality? Some may say we are; with a desire to fit in, we are constantly looking to pop culture as the Code of Behavior. However, while we rely on movies and TV shows, we can’t become copy paste characters. Unfortunately, Amber Heard did not fully understand how to avoid plagiarism. While her attempts to paraphrase Gone Girl were well hidden, she should have cited her sources before submitting her final act. Ironically, this is not Johnny Depp’s first role involving plagiarizing work. Maybe this time, the truth will not be kept.

Every actor is in search for their first major role that puts them on the map. But just like the phrase says, “If you can’t bring the mountain to Muhammed, then Muhammed must go to the mountain”. Amber must have really taken that to heart; embody it as a new motto. If you can’t bring the lead role to Amber, then Amber must make a lead role. The biggest acting career of her life, with cameras ready for the taking. Sadly, Amber couldn’t cut each take and keep them for the bloopers. Amber’s on set crew…I mean defense team could have taken the time to watch at least one episode of Suits or even House of Cards before entering the set…I mean court. For a case trying to win millions, you could have invested a little more for the premium subscription.

They say people hide away their pain in their humor. Last I checked, Amber Heard never made us chuckle. She has taken a liking to the thriller genre and now with the talks of mental disorders, it may seem that she is slowly delving into the psychological thriller. Johnny Depp has faced years of defamation and yet still manages to approach the trial with the same personality and sarcasm he has shared with the world, both on and off screen. Hopefully, once the case moves over, Johnny Depp and Nick Dunne can come together and share war stories. At least we will get to see some quality content bloopers at the end of this season. Let’s be grateful that A Simple Favor came out after anyone had a chance to review the script.
