Loaves and Fish
I'm sharing this for my daughter Madison (9 years old) to show her how much of an impact she can have on others through inspiring them to give back. Our family sponsors a girl through World Vision, and they sent information today about a new project they are working on to help starving children both in the US and abroad. They’ve made really innovative food packets (think supercharged applesauce pouches) that are saving thousands of kids around the world by providing them much needed nutrition. Madison decided that she wants to donate her $7 to help those children - all the money she had in her piggy bank. In addition, when she grows up she now wants to start a business to make food to help feed children. She wants to call it Loaves and Fish, since she said this project reminds her of Jesus feeding the 5,000. Not going to lie, this was one of those proud dad moments where I had to quickly turn to "get something out of my eye."
In the meantime, she is hoping that she can inspire others to donate a little to turn her $7 into more.
If you’d like to help Madison help the kids, the link to donate is in the picture to the left. I wanted to show how much of an impact her inspiration can have on others, and so I committed to matching any donations "she" received up to a total of $250. If you are able and interested in helping, please send me a PM with what you donated just so that I can track for her and help demonstrate the impact she can have.
Here is a picture as well of the arm band they sent to show just how malnourished these kids are. Every 15 seconds another child dies of hunger.
So proud of our little girl!
