Lokad Quarterly: Fall 2024
Our advice for 2025? Simulate all scenarios; Evaluate economic impact; Automate decisions.
Editorial
2024 was a banner year for us and I don’t write that lightly. Even more (and bigger) partnerships were launched, demonstrating the growing global acceptance of our supply chain vision. Anyone who has founded a company will know precisely how much time, effort, and sacrifice goes into building, maintaining and growing a dream. For this reason, every now and then it’s good to take stock (pun intended) of where you are and where you’ve come from.
In 2008, Lokad was a garage-style startup, but today we are a team of 55 (give or take) and our “garage” is now almost 1,000m2 across two floors in downtown Paris. In 2014, we signed our first MRO client, but today we have major aerospace clients across the globe and we added even more this year. In 2017 we started a YouTube channel in our kitchen (true story), but today we have a dedicated, modern recording studio in our offices.
I genuinely don’t write this to gloat. I, by occupation, know that the future is uncertain and there’s no way to know if 2025 will be anything like 2024. As such, I could easily find myself with egg on my face next December. For this reason, permit me a moment of festive cheer and public recognition of the immense work Lokad’s team has done over the last 12 months.
In closing, the future is not a mirror of the past, but as I write this now, I’d be quite happy if it were.

Insights from SCE2024 Roundtable on Modern Supply Chain Forecasting
At the recent Supply Chain Event 2024, we were joined by our partner Maisons du Monde to discuss how our supply chain collaboration is progressing. Kévin Baumann (Lead Supply Chain Scientist, Lokad) moderated the compelling roundtable discussion featuring:
The panel delved into the complexities of large-scale modern supply chains, emphasizing the transformative role of AI and probabilistic forecasting. Sébastien and Christophe shared firsthand experiences of working with Lokad to overcome challenges and highlighted the significance of change management and user-adoption in building a resilient supply chain.
Spairliners x Lokad x Total Aviation: MRO Europe 2024
Recorded in October 2024 ahead of MRO Europe in Barcelona, Lokad, Spairliners, and Total Aviation hosted a rooftop networking event with many of the world’s top aerospace companies and professionals.
The event was also an opportunity to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Lokad-Spairliners partnership in a fun party atmosphere!
Scheduling in Aerospace
Effective scheduling is a cornerstone of success for OEM and MRO operations in the aerospace industry, where managing the combinatorial complexity of parts, tools, and personnel is a daily challenge. Lokad's innovative programmatic approach, powered by probabilistic forecasting and custom algorithms, tackles these complexities head-on. By optimizing both macro and micro-level planning, Lokad ensures that companies maximize efficiency and financial outcomes, even in the face of inevitable "exceptions."
