Luminis Health - Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) Certification Program - Simulation Exercise

The 3rd Cohort of Luminis Health Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification participants perform a simulation exercise of the current state of assembling 10 cars in a batch process of 5 each on day one. Then they learn the critical tools and their applications. On the last day they did the same exercise again by applying the tools needed to reduce the lead time. Some of the tools they applied are Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, 8 Waste, Single Piece Flow, TAKT Time, Supplies at the point of use, resources needed to name a few.

Initial time taken by the two teams were 204 and 196 seconds to produce 10 cars. The target/Goal given to them was to complete all ten cars in 39 seconds. The first reaction after hearing the target/goal was:

“WOW!”

“No way”,

“it’s impossible”,

“We cannot achieve 39 seconds from 204 and 196 seconds.”

Both the teams did it with flying colors and beat the target/goal. Congratulations!

Message is, use the right tools and do not hesitate to do a Test of Change. See the results in the attached picture.
